How do I start and choose a play mode?

Choose “Begin your first life,” read the starting conditions, then “Step into this life.” In Settings and saving → Life choices, choose “I choose each time” or “Automatic life choices; compass turns wait.” Time advances automatically. The compass records agency, connection, curiosity and balance; its directions are not scores or predictions.

Why is time paused or a choice still waiting?

Leaving the app, opening settings or switching tabs pauses time. Return to This life and use Resume when ready. Compass turns still need your choice even if you close their sheet. For ordinary life choices, use Choose for myself or Resume automatic choices to switch modes.

How do I back up or change devices?

Local autosave is not cloud sync. Open settings → Backup and import, export a JSON file to trusted storage, then select it on the other device and review the merge before confirming. Back up before clearing data or uninstalling. Some engine saves are language-specific; check your previous language if the new language’s library is empty.

What if sharing fails or the game seems stuck?

Check free storage, the destination and whether the receiving app already saved or shared the content before retrying. Canceling a dialog does not undo content already delivered elsewhere. Check for a waiting choice or paused state. Contact support before deleting the app or clearing its data.

Languages and difficult themes

Main controls support 24 languages; the legacy engine has 10 language entries, while original stories use Traditional Chinese or English. Some stories fall back to those languages. Stories may mention illness, death, suicide, bereavement, poverty, war, violence, crime, adult tobacco and alcohol, and non-explicit relationships. Skip some distressing events does not remove every difficult topic or verify age.
